A bit of history
Located on the banks of the Bès River, at an altitude of 1,000 meters, La Chaldette is a small spa town in the Aubrac region with a rich history. Mentioned as early as 1785, it was not truly used until 1801, after the recovery of the local justice of the peace, Mr. Viallard.
By 1867, there were already 653 spa visitors coming to enjoy its alkaline waters at 35°C. After a period of decline, the resort has regained its former prestige thanks to a modern facility, built in 1994 by the architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, which offers relaxation areas open to the surrounding nature.
