loops on the Aubrac Lozère

Explore the Aubrac region in a loop at your own pace

The Aubrac region of Lozère is perfectly suited to loop hikes, offering the freedom to start and return to the same point, without the constraints of a linear route. These circuits are ideal for discovering the plateau in a day, half-day, or multi-day trek, while enjoying unspoiled landscapes and wide-open spaces.

Among the iconic routes, the Tour des Monts d’Aubrac, divided into several sections, offers a long, multi-day loop through the villages, summer pastures, and characteristic panoramas of the plateau. For a gentler approach to hiking, Aubrac au cœur offers a short and accessible circuit on the high plateau, perfect for a first experience over a few days.

Carefully marked and maintained, the loop hikes of the Aubrac region of Lozère cross pastures bordered by stone walls, high-altitude forests, iconic burons (traditional shepherd’s huts), and sweeping horizons. Accessible to all levels, they allow for an authentic immersion in a vibrant region, shaped by pastoral traditions and transhumance.
